Country_Education_Foundation_CEF_Ashleigh_BeckThe historic copper mining town of Kapunda, SA feels like a million miles from the big smoke. But this hasn’t stopped Country Education Foundation grant recipient Ashleigh Beck pursuing her academic goals.

Ashleigh is studying medical science, specialising in optometry, at Flinders University. She is being assisted with the costs of study through the Country Education Foundation of Kapunda and the Rotary Soukup scholarship.

Ashleigh said when there isn’t a uni close to where you live there’s a lot more costs involved in studying.

“This funding has greatly helped in the transition from high school to university by covering many expenses, primarily travel costs, textbooks and general university expenses.”

The added financial pressures on rural and regional students can be a huge obstacle when it comes to higher education. The Country Education Foundation tries to lower this hurdle by providing grants and assistance to students like Ashleigh.

“It has allowed me to focus on my studies and future career without additional financial stresses.”

Help students like Ashleigh achieve their dreams by donating to the Country Education Foundation.
