By February 8, 2023No Comments

Four deserving students undertaking STEM-related study, have received a significant boost to their studies with the announcement of the 2020 Audi FoundationCountry Education Foundation of Australia (CEF) national scholarships. Each scholarship is worth $2,500 for this academic year in addition to the grant given by their local foundations.

This year’s recipients are:

Paige Klingner was selected to attend the global youth science forum in Heidelberg, Germany last year, where she decided to focus her tertiary study on genetics research and how she can use this area of study to help society in disease prevention.

At the opposite end of the country, Ben is also in his first year of university and is aiming high. Naturally drawn to science and mathematics, after almost 14 years of drought on the family farm he is eager to find ways that drones can be used in the agricultural sector.

Isabella is in her second year at the University of Canberra. After her first year of a science degree, she realised teaching was her passion and is now studying to be a science teacher. Isabella attributes her love of mathematics and science to having great teachers and wants to be that teacher for future students.

Cecily is in her fourth and final year of studying nutrition dietetics with outstanding results. She is about to participate in placements away from Wollongong, including one in Tasmania, as well as writing her thesis.

The calibre and variety of students supported illustrates the breadth of support offered by CEF, thanks to the Audi Foundation.

“We are so lucky to have a partner like the Audi Foundation that enables us to support inspirational rural and regional students with such extraordinary goals from across Australia,” said CEF CEO Juliet Petersen.

Paul Sansom, Chairman of the Audi Foundation, was pleased to provide support for students in rural and regional communities so that they have greater access to tertiary education.

“The Audi Foundation is committed to supporting organisations and charities that work to improve educational outcomes of students facing disadvantage and other barriers to learning. Our partnership with CEF strongly aligns with this vision and we are delighted to be able to support students with the opportunity to create brighter futures.

“We look forward to seeing these scholars become the future scientists, teachers, scholars, engineers and artists that will drive progress in Australia and around the world.”
